Roller welcomes 155 trainees of the BSZ Leonberg

After a two-year break due to the pandemic, Roller was finally able to welcome trainees for mechatronics for refrigeration technology again. In mid-January 2023, 155 trainees from 7 vocational school classes of the BSZ Leonberg were guests at Roller in Gerlingen.

Many of the trainees, who are already in their second year of apprenticeship, have already installed air coolers, heat exchangers and air conditioning units for customers. The aim of this invitation from Roller is to give the prospective refrigeration mechatronics technicians a look behind the scenes of a manufacturer and to show them how evaporators are built, what know-how is behind these products and to provide them with practical knowledge for installation.

Even though Walter Roller itself does not offer any apprenticeships as a mechatronics technician for refrigeration technology, Roller is committed in this way to promoting the diversity of this attractive profession to young people. In this way, Roller would like to make its contribution to the targeted qualification of future specialists. And it has been doing so for more than 30 years.

And so this year's lecture series also offered a special highlight: a get-together with professional school teacher Frank Hons. He himself had taken part in the training at Roller in 1994 as a prospective refrigeration technician at the vocational school BSZ Leonberg.
